Northern Italian Spinone Association - 27/07/2025

Dave Robson (Robricci)

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this wonderfully friendly show. The ring was an excellent size, and we were fortunate with the weather. A heartfelt thank you also to all the exhibitors for presenting such lovely dogs—your entries made for some very difficult decisions. That said, I did observe a few features in some exhibits that fell short of the desired standard. These included toplines that lacked the characteristic fall and rise, croups that were insufficiently sloped, and overly flat pasterns. In addition, a noticeable lack of muscle tone was evident in some cases.

If we have made any errors or omissions in our Spinone results, please
accept our apologies and email corrections to results@italianspinone.co.uk
We follow up with the KC all missing Championship show critiques
that are outstanding after 3 months.
Whilst we make every effort to obtain critiques, if they are not forthcoming
please note it is the KC who are ultimately responsible for obtaining these.

Junior Handling (Age 6-11) . Dog (1 entries, 0 absent) Owner Critique
1st . Layla Duncan (8 yrs) - Handled her dog confidently, showing a good rapport throughout. Listened carefully to instructions and executed them precisely. Initially missed my repositioning but corrected promptly. A promising prospect for the future. Missed out in the challenge by not being aware of her surroundings and standing too close to the tent support, which restricted my ability to move around the back of her. Overall, well done.

1st . Abigail Kirkwood Emery (12 yrs) - Another excellent young handler who followed my instructions precisely. Handled her dog with gentleness, presenting it to full advantage. Moved at the perfect pace to showcase the dog’s attributes. Awarded Best Junior Handler – well done.
