Three Counties Agricultural Society - 08/06/2025

Sally Griffin (Sanjika)

A very enjoyable days judging, thank you to the society for inviting me to judge and the excellent stewards.
I was very pleased with the presentation of the dogs but feel it is important to address movement. The breed is “intrepid and untiring”, this must be considered when exhibiting and evaluating the breed. Unfortunately for me there were many dogs who did not present this ability, poor muscle tone and incorrect footfall was evident in far too many exhibits. Sadly, the tick tock tails are also disappearing.

1st Inostricani Time Will Tell
Rossiter A very promising brown roan puppy, which oozes breed type and typical of this kennel. With a lovely square outline, he is already showing maturity in his solid construction. A masculine head with correct breed requirements of depth and divergent planes. A beautiful melting dark eyed expression, a pronounced occiput and good earset finished of his classic head. A good neck into good shoulders depth of chest into strong loin and a good tailset good coat and thick skin finished his appearance. Movement needs to be developed as he matures but very happy to award him Best Puppy, a shame he didn’t stay for the group.
2nd Affilato Jump With Style at Rydonmist
Beecham & Clark I am sure these 2 puppies will swap places many times in the future. He is an excellent example of the breed. A typical head with good planes, depth of muzzle and length and set of ear. A harsh white and orange coat on a thick skin covered a pleasing outline with a strong chest and evident breastbone. Very balanced front and rear assembly. Movement again will improve with age; I just preferred the expression on my 1st placed.

1st Affilato Jump The Gun
Clark & Sharp Another quality puppy from this kennel. A well constructed square white and orange male who was presented in tiptop condition. Good head, with correct median furrow into occiput and evident crest before a nice neck leading into correct placed shoulders. Good depth of chest and strong loin into a good tailset. Movement coming together well just a tad more apprehensive when stood.
2nd Stowledge Soul of Blymara
Blythe A longer, larger male than my winner. A brown roan, a shade darker than preferred with soft areas. Another showing a tad apprehension, must be the age. A longer narrower head without depth of muzzle. Correct eve placement which hopefully will darken with age, good set and length of ears. A good neck but less developed in chest and prosternum. A longer cast body into a weaker rear end.

1st Connomar Cipirello of Roughmoor
Cook 2 nice square males. A robust workmanlike brown roan male with a correct coat and thickness of skin. A typical head with a beautiful melting expression. Good divergence, ear set and length of ear. Required median furrow into occiput. Strong neck into good shoulder, which was balanced with rear angulation. Good tail set and pleasing tick tock movement on the move.
2nd Rossetti at Stowledge
Bevan & Thompson A white and orange male who presents with good square outline. A nice typical head with good head planes. Pleasing expression, correct placement of eyes with correct ears. Good coat and thick skin, nice oval bone. Balanced front and rear angulation. Correct tail set and good movement.

1st Connomar Artussi
Godfrey Stood alone, an immature white and orange 3-year-old. Good square male with a nice short coarse coat. A beautiful correctly divergent head, good depth of muzzle and correct muzzle length to skull ratio. Movement could be improved by correct tail carriage.

1st Inostricani On a Mission
Hinton A square workmanlike dog, matured very nicely with good substance, presented in very good condition. Everything is in correct proportions, a typical head with correct expression, correct ochre eye colour and placement. The correct squareness shows the balance of front and rear assembly, a good depth of chest and short strong loin. Good strong oval bone with good feet. Movement good but in developing with age more muscle would be a great improvement.
2nd Lucoru Blow a Fuse at Cloudnine
Fordham A larger, all through, white and orange dog. A strong masculine boy with a strong head exhibiting correct divergence, a nice kind eye, correct placement and good ears set, and length. Correct neck into good shoulders and a strong chest with good depth. Although longer cast a strong loin with good coat and correct thick skin. Let down on movement with weak pasterns and loose movement in the hocks.

1st Sh Ch Affilato You Can Bank On It (JW)
Clark & Sharp CC & BOB An excellently presented, well muscled and fantastic movement in this young white and orange male. Correct head, from depth of muzzle to equal ratio. Good eye placement and correct colouring. Ear set and length correct. Nice correct median furrow into occiput and nape of neck. Lovely powerful neck into strong muscled shoulders. Good depth of chest with a pronounced sternum. Excellent bone and feet. Correct topline, with excellent skin and coat. Strong loin leading into excellent rear angulation with evident muscle and strength in thigh. Movement is extremely strong and powerful, drives around the ring with a good stride and maintains his topline and correct tail carriage on the move.
2nd Sh Ch Gradevole Strufolli
Robinson Took the 2nd spot on his movement and muscle condition. A strong mature brown roan male, who could easily work all day. Another with a slightly darker shade of brown roan and something that needs to be watched in the breed going forward. A worthy champion that met all the correct breed characteristics, head was of a nice balanced size to body. Correct divergence with good length ratio. Good depth of chest, good bone and quality of coat and thick skin. Strong loin into correct tail set and good movement.

1st Cartrefyspin Oren Sunburst
Davies Lovely baby puppy enjoying her day out. Pleasing head and eye. Good bite. At just 6 months raw but already showing a good topline and tailset. Erratic on the move which is totally understandable at this age. I will look forward to her development.

1st Stowledge Scilla at Incantevole
Kruglow A good moving youngster held her shape and has a good tail set. With her body depth and strength, I would have preferred a head to balance this.

1st Connomar Sciacca
Woodward CC. A beautiful square brown roan (correct shade) youngster. An expression that you just melted into, on the most balanced and typical head. Correct divergence, equal length of muzzle to skull ratio, nice occiput leading into a good strong neck. Well placed shoulders led into depth of chest. Good oval bone, a strong muscular loin into a correctly angulated tail set. Loved her tick tock movement when she held her topline. Good thick skin and a nice coarse coat.
2nd Stowledge Secret
Bevan & Thompson Unfortunately, her coat colour impacted on the overall look of this pretty girl. The soft texture on her front was also evident through her coat on her body where it mixed with different shades. She was balanced in her front and rear angulations, but I felt she was too narrow throughout. I’m not looking for masculinity in a bitch, but they should still be strong and robust just feminine in appeal.

1st Connomar Ramacca with Bardantop
Guest Litter sister to my Graduate/CC winner. Shares a lot of the same qualities. Correct workmanlike square girl, good head with correct Spinone features. Strength in muzzle, with a lovely grouchy appearance. Ears a tad long with a low ear placement. Nice strong neck into well muscled and correct shoulder placement. Good depth of chest with good strong loin and correctly placed tail. Strong oval bone, nice course coat. Moved very well and matching her sister with a wonderful ticktock tail.

1st Inostricani Athena
Boyes-Weston A lovely pretty square brown roan bitch. A very typical type of Spinone from this kennel. Pretty correct head. Good equal ratio head, strong muzzle. A well placed and look of eye. Good ear placement and length. Strong neck into good shoulders, strength in chest and good loin. Good rear angulation with correct tailset. Balanced for and aft. Moved well but requires more drive.
2nd Valeska V D Turfhoeve am Cartrefyspin
Davies Another nice bitch but built very differently. Strong bitch with good bone, a tad longer than square. A great shade of orange but would prefer a coarser coat. Good bone and strength in her rear assembly. Movement could have more drive.

Sharp Res CC. A beautiful mature brown roan. Correct Spinone head meeting all the requirements of ratios, divergence and strength, although retaining femininity. A strong neck sat in well placed strong shoulders. Correct oval bone, good feeT and prosternum. Good depth of chest with spring of rib. A nice harsh coat presented very well. Good topline and tailset with a rear assembly balancing her front to show a nicely balanced girl. Nicely muscled which enable her to move well and with drive.
2nd Sh Ch Affilato It Had to Be You (JW)

1st Inostricani Crown Jewels
Boyes-Weston Wonderful to have 2 quality 10-year-olds for me to judge, both moved out very well, certainly showing a few youngsters how its done. A larger framed workmanlike robust girl. Good head, body and rear. Strong bone, good course coat and depth of chest. Good topline and balanced.
2nd Sh Ch Connomar Zambana
Woodward Smaller framed than 1st but a quality girl. Lost her topline slightly which detracted from her other typical Spinone properties. Good head, eyes, and ears. Good coat with good thick skin.
