Italian Spinone Club of Great Britain - 30/11/2025

Linda Mayne (Michiamo)

Thank you to the ISCGB for their invitation to judge, my excellent stewards, and of course the exhibitors who entered under me. I was honoured to have such a great entry both numerically and in quality, which made some decisions hard.

If we have made any errors or omissions in our Spinone results, please

We follow up with the KC all missing Championship show critiques

Whilst we make every effort to obtain critiques, if they are not forthcoming

Baby Puppy Dog . Dog (1 entries, 0 absent) Owner Critique
1st Montecani Back To The Freezo Davies 5 month old w/o, a raw baby but in keeping with his age. His head was lovely, long and lean with divergent planes, pronounced occiput and visible crest to the neck. Front and rear angulation were both good as were his bone and feet. His depth of chest is still to develop but fine for his age. Typical topline, sloping croup and his tailset followed the line of the croup. Once settled his movement was positive and he moved well for a baby puppy. Best Baby Puppy.

1st Ilsolo Sniffed It Once Bovio 5 month old b/r, a compact bitch with a well covered body which at the moment makes her head look a little small in proportion. Pronounced sternum and deep chest, well off for bone, good width all through, angulation front and rear was fine, a steady mover who won this class on her overall outline.
2nd . Benevola Stella Splendente Quilter 4 month old b/r, another compact bitch with a body that was in keeping with her age. I preferred her head to 1 and felt her head proportions were slightly better. Good eye colour and a sweet expression, short neck, enough bone and nice round feet. Her chest was deep already and good width for her age. A nice harsh coat and thick skin, her movement was not as steady as 1 but she was giving a month away in age.

1st Lucoru Fire and Ice for Dewdhala Wagh 7 month old b/r, a compact dog with a square outline, well pronounced sternum, excellent bone, lovely lean head and melting expression, beautiful eyes with close fitting rims, large nose, good earset, front angulation was good and his chest had depth. Correct topline which he held on the move. Typical movement, carried his tail well. I really liked him and was pleased to award him BPIS.
2nd Brewnel Bar By Stowledge Barrett b/r just 6 months old with a lovely lean head, good median furrow, divergent planes and nicely set ears of good length. He still has some soft puppy coat on his head but this will harshen with regular stripping. He has a pleasing overall outline, good angulation front and rear, adequate bone, sloping croup. He moved nicely for his age and was well presented.

1st Inostricani Time Will Tell Rossiter 13 months b/r who scored in bone, feet and substance. classic head with divergent planes, soft expression and large nose. His ear set and length were both good, pronounced sternum with good angulation front and rear, square in outline, thick skin and harsh coat, good width of thigh, typical movement which was better at a slower pace.
2nd Osulf Peanuts Barney Blanchard 14 months b/r who was lighter in frame and a little smaller than 1. good length of head with a kind eye and large nose. I would prefer more divergence in head planes. Short strong neck, good front assembly, he presented a square compact outline with minimal tuck up. Sloping croup with good tail set and carriage He has good width of thigh and was well muscled. He has thick skin and a nice harsh coat. Moved out well for his age. Shown in good condition.

1st Stowledge Soul of Blymara Blythe 18 months b/r with a heavier build. Good length of head with divergent planes, correct proportions and a nice large nose. Square in outline with a very well developed chest in both depth and width, good bone and feet, harsh body coat and thick skin. He moved ok, carrying his tail nicely. He is still young and I think he is a dog that needs time to develop and reach his full potential.

1st Osulf Wath on Dearne Williams a larger w/o dog who presented a square outline, another with a well developed chest, minimal tuck up, well pronounced sternum and good front angulation. He had adequate bone for his size and lovely big round feet. Harsh coat and thick skin, Sloping croup and good tailset. Well muscled thighs. Moved ok going away, he wasn't so co-operative for his handler coming back.

1st Diggmere Baby Bear Watts b/r dog who has come on leaps and bounds since I last judged him at 6 months old. His head has developed nicely, still with good length and proportions although a little broad in back skull. He has divergent planes and his eye are a lovely colour, enhanced with close fitting rims. Good earset and length, strong neck and more developed dewlap than some. His forechest was good and his angulation was balanced front and rear. Square in outline with minimal tuck up, and correct topline. Adequate bone for his size. Moved out very well with a relaxed, easy gait, quite different to when I last judged him.

1st Fiducia Cho Oyu at Miavita Giles a robust w/o dog with a great compact outline who stood out in this class of nice dogs. His head has good proportions with a lovely soft expression. His front assembly is excellent with well placed shoulders. Squarely built with correct topline and good depth of chest, nothing overdone. He has very good bone and large round feet. Well muscled rear which showed in his powerful movement. Delighted to award him DCC today.
2nd Diggmere Winwood Ranger Cayford an older b/r dog with a typical head, lovely eye shape and colour with close fitting rims giving him a kind expression. He has good front and rear angulation, not as much bone as 1 but still enough and nice round large feet. Square in outline, not as much of him as 1 but everything in proportion. Really good movement, an easy relaxed trot and one of the few that tick tocked his tail on the move. A well deserved RCC.

1st Sh Ch Rubino Spinone del Mucrone with Riccini Whittingham, Bexon & Wright a w/o dog who has a classic head of good length, correct proportions with a lean skull. He has a square outline with good front and rear angulation, his coat is harsh and his skin thick. He excels in profile movement which is powerful yet relaxed.
2nd Diggmere Tiger Swallowtail (JW ShCEX OSW) Duncan a larger w/o than 1 and a shade longer in body. A well built male with a typical outline. His head is of good length with divergent planes and a nice expression which would benefit from more furnishings around the eye area. A stronger head than 1 but in proportion to his size. He has a short strong neck and is well angulated in front with a prominent forechest. He is a very solid mature dog with good depth of chest and correct topline. Plenty of bone and his rear is well muscled which showed in his driving movement.

Veteran Dog . Dog (1 entries, 0 absent) Owner Critique
1st Macarica Harry's Rock Dewar a mature w/o dog who was presented in very good condition. The best of heads with a soft yet grouchy expression, and huge nose to complete the picture. He has a strong neck, good front angulation, ribs well sprung and a deep chest in keeping with his age. Excellent bone and large round feet. His well muscled rear showed in his very typical movement which was sound and effortless.

Working Dog . Dog (2 entries, 0 absent) Owner Critique
1st Sh Ch Testaverde Enrico Caruso del Jocagil Gill a mature b/r male with a great square outline. He has a lovely head, long and lean, with expressive eyes of good colour and a large nose. His angulation front and rear is balanced, he has enough depth of chest with a correct topline and minimal tuck up. Good bone and feet, well muscled hindquarters. His movement today was more enthusiastic than 2 which won him the class.
2nd Sh Ch Gradevole Strufolli Robinson close up to 1, he also has the most beautiful head, long and lean, very gentle expression, nice spongy nose, his neck was short and strong with a well developed dewlap which I felt was lacking in some exhibits. He has a good sternum and well sprung ribs with good depth of chest. Angulation front and rear was balanced, square in body and good slope to the croup with a nice tailset. His movement was sound and true but felt he was lacking a little in oomph today.

2nd Ilsolo Brezza Di Angelo at Teazledown Bruce b/r 7 months old, another very sweet puppy with a nice lean head, expressive eyes which should darken with age, short neck, well developed chest, pleasing overall outline, sloping croup with good tailset, moved out well with a neat, accurate trot.

1st Cartrefyspin Oren Scarlett Watt w/o 12 months, stood alone but thoroughly deserved her first place. Very nicely constructed, a pretty head with correct proportions, divergent planes, nice expression, good earset, pronounced sternum, well sprung ribs, maybe carrying a shade too much weight, a typical outline for her age, well off for bone, sloping croup and nice tailset, she has good width of thigh. A happy mover, with an easy relaxed trot and good footfall positioning.

Yearling Bitch . Dog (4 entries, 2 absent) Owner Critique
1st Karankawa Happy Hatter at Cherrybower Yarnley it was difficult to separate 1 and 2 as they are quite different in type. This 21 month old w/o was squarer in outline and more feminine than 2. She had a nice head with divergent planes and a pleasing expression from eyes with good shape and colour. Pronounced sternum with good front and rear angulation. Would prefer more bone and larger feet but I felt her construction overall had the edge. She moved out well.
2nd Stowledge Sahara De Grave an 18 month w/o who was larger than 1, her head had good proportions and was in keeping with her body. A shade longer in body than 1 but she is slower to mature so at a different stage of development. Her front and rear angulation was balanced, her coat was quite profuse which affected her outline when standing. She scored in bone and had nice large round feet, her movement was fine coming and going. I think she just needs more time to settle into her frame which I didn't see as a negative.

Large spongy nose, well defined occiput and visible crest to the neck. Her forechest is well devloped and she has balanced angulation front and rear. Correct topline and minimal tuck up. Good depth and width to chest, harsh coat and thick skin. She moved really well, particularly when viewed in profile and her movement was true coming and going.
