Jane Maxwell (Bardrestan)

I felt the Breed had become a lot more diverse than it was in the past and it wasn’t easy to be consistent in my judging. Yes, there has always been quite a variable range in height but the basic construction should be similar at least, a squarish, hardy, workmanlike body. I tried to ensure that my biggest consideration were the attributes that make the Spinone able to do the job it was made for. Moving close behind continues to be quite an issue and although the Spinone is capable of a fast trot, moving round the ring at top speed does not really demonstrate the lovely steady pounding trot that is their true, endurance pace. Thick pelts and coats of correct texture were much in evidence which was pleasing.

1st Inostricani Time Will Tell
Rossiter brown roan with divergent head planes, large spongy nose and kind eye. Pronounced occiput and liked length to neck. Shoulder laid back and gentle slope, back to rising loin and slight slope to croup with good tail set Well boned with large compact feet. Harsh coat and with typical Spinone roll, just very close behind today.
2nd Piacente Uomo Saggio
James orange roan with masculine, lean head, almost round eye but rims rather loose at the moment. A little upright in angulation in front perhaps though with rising loin and gently falling croup. Moved better behind and has dense, harsh coat.

1st Osulf Peanuts Barney
Blanchard brown roan of good colour, lean rooflike skull although head planes not quite divergent.. Neck rather short, but rustic in appearance with good depth to chest and moved with width behind. Again, thick skin and coarse flat coat.

1st Affilato Jump The Gun
Clark liked this young orange roan’s super head, well proportioned, lean and with divergent head planes, dewlap and appealing expression .Developing nicely in body shape with well laid shoulder and good sweep to stifle. Has strong, oval bone and compact feet. Somewhat unsettled in the cattle sheds today but showed pleasing movement when settled.

1st Affilato Jump With Style at Rydonmist
Beecham & Sharp orange roan yearling dog, again balanced in muzzle to skull ratio, pronounced occiput and lean in head. Really lovely eye and expression, Liked length of neck and layback of shoulder. Topline gently rising over loin. Good sweep to stifle and strong in bone, feet could be more compact. Coarse coat and thick skin. Very exuberant on the move and maybe could benefit from a slower pace for now, to better demonstrate the typical pounding trot. I look forward to seeing him as he matures. RCC

1st Sh Ch Affilato You Can Bank On It (JW)
Clark this orange roan caught my eye at his first Show at 6 months old, and although I haven’t seen him since he is fulfilling his promise. Still only 3, I think his best years are still come as he drops into himself even more. Divergent head planes, large spongy nose extending over edge of muzzle, muzzle and skull balanced. Outline almost square, and with depth and width to chest, pleasing topline. Strong oval bone, with compact feet and spring to pastern. Thick pelt and harsh coat. Moved with width fore and aft, can move with fast pace. Again, perhaps a little slower pace would really demonstrate the heavy, pounding trot a little better. CC and BOB.
2nd Sh Ch Inostricani On A Mission
Hinton orange roan with pleasing head, divergent planes, round, eye and kind expression, squared off muzzle. Rather upright in shoulder I felt, which shortened neck and extended forefront. Good depth to chest and liked rear angulation and sweep to stifle, strong hocks and good feet. Moved soundly.

1st Inostricani Blossom
Rossiter feminine orange roan whose muzzle and skull were balanced and head planes divergent. Kind eye and large spongy nose, neck of good length and enough dewlap. Good depth to chest and strong underline. Topline pleased and sufficient bend to stifle though a bit overdone at hock. Slight spring to pastern in front, and moved freely holding topline . Nice thick pelt and rough coat. BP
2nd Gellini Special Edition
Pugh dark brown roan with lean head and skull to foreface of decent ratio. Head planes not quite divergent but pronounced occiput and large, roundish eye. Short of neck, strong oval bone and large compact feet. Strong loin and good bend to stifle. Harsh coat.

1st Stowledge Scilla at Incantevole (JW)
Kruglow very pretty orange roan, youthful, but very well put together. Correct, feminine head, lovely eye and strong neck of pronounced occiput. Topline pleased, strong bone and well angulated front and rear. Lovely Spinone roll and tick tock tail on the move. One to watch, just needs time.

1st Scodinzolare Photoulla
Mortimer brown roan with balanced lean head and divergent head planes . Thick skin and super, harsh coat, oval bone and compact feet.. Quite upright in front and straight in rear, so equal angulation allowing decent movement.
2nd Montecani Riva's Memories am Cartrefyspin
Davies orange roan, whose head was in balance, long and lean. Liked rough coat and thick skin. Rather up on the leg with underline showing a little too much tuck up. However true fore and aft on the move, free and easy.

Limit Bitch . Dog (8 entries, 1 absent) Owner Critique This was an absolutely lovely class I thought, with quality all through.
1st Inostricani Sky's The Limit at Milisimo
Sandy this orange and white pleased for her overall robust appearance and feminine qualities. Head size and shape of quality, kindly expression. Strong neck, enough dewlap and correct, unexaggerated topline. Good depth to chest, strong bone, slight spring to pastern. Hind angles equal to front, low set hocks. Moved with pounding trot. Close up for RCC.
2nd Dewdhala Sempre Agnese (JW)
Wagh solid and rustic, this orange roan appealed for overall shape, size and strength. Lovely expression and divergent planes, strong neck and good depth to chest and strong underline. Rough coat, but perhaps could be a little better presented for the ring.

1st Sh Ch Annilann Temptress del Michiamo (JW)
Anderson & Mayne orange roan, attractive and no mistaking her sex, but hardy and square.I liked the length and leanness to head, lovely expression and divergent planes. Pronounced occiput with strong neck, unexaggerated dewlap. Liked oval bone, and large compact feet. Deep chested and strong deep underline. Topline form withers down, then rising over loin, held on the move. Broad across croup and tail set on well. Good coat and skin and moved accurately and easily. CC
2nd Sh Ch Amberellie Rosanna (ShCEX) Kruglow orange roan who appealed for that robust and strong squarish shape. Head planes not as obviously divergent as winner but kindly expression, muzzle square form front, good length to head, and well proportioned.. Liked length to neck and correct topline, held on the move. Deep chested and ribs well back. Strong loin and bone. Good sweep to stifle and moved with that heavy pounding trot, free and easy. RCC
